ok, well my wife's boss owns a colision repair shop and he reciently fixed my msp. well we've been hanging out and he wants to hook me up with a nice "custom" paint job. my car is going to be like a marketing tool for him. now, his shops name is not going to be incorperated into the paint, but prob a decal or so on the windows. i finally have the opertunity to get a bad-ass paint job but i dont know what to do for the msp. i like solid colors but he really wants to push the air brush work. no skulls or dragon's, thats rice. but some thing that will go well with the msp's character. any suggestions will be looked into, afterall, ITS FREE! Ghost in the words MAZDASPEED on the side, just barely hinting as noticable.

ghost flames or scallops are nice. Or, if you want him to go all out; have him do a full two tone paint job, with an airbrush border between the two colors. That's what I would do...

that van....um no. ive always liked the ghost jobs too, maby a broken line with the mazdaspeed at the end. i really want to hear what mazda owners would like, it might end up going to shows. i dont want something that 50/50 like. im lookin at some type of a gold/ bronz rim with polished lip too so it should prob match.

Just do some nice custom pearl/metal flake, all that over the top BS (flames, stripes, even mazdaspeed on the side) is sooo dumb... I mean c'mon you might as well paint it bright neon ricer green and call it a day. Just my opinion.

Well then do the mazdaspeed logo at an angle like the racecars, and keep it small. Nobody said it has to take up the whole damn side.

just remember Flames are a muscle car thing and unless your car runs a 1/4 mile like one dont paint it like one IMO...

Two-tone. Something like British Racing Green with TONS of pearl or flake on the bottom half, and a nice smooth Satin Black on the top half. Seperate it with some silver flake pinstripe, and it'll look sick.

i like the 2 tone as well. if they want to do something different maybe have a mazda emblem ghosted on. or you could paint the car in a color that matches one of those color changing paints and then do flames in the color changing paint so from some angles you can't see the flames at all, others you can. i also like the real fire thing and i'm sure you could come up with some creative things for that. there's also the "fighter jet" paint schemes that are kinda cool, like AMS's drag evo. maybe do a stealth bomber paint scheme instead

stealth bombers are baddass

this is what the AMS car looks like

not sure the bomber would translate as well
http://www.benbarrack.com/Images/Military/3_AirForce/StealthBomber.jpg

maybe some simulated sharp angles or something? the stealth bomber might be too smooth. maybe something like an apache would work better?

the thing to be careful of would be making sure you don't mimic the AMS car. it runs a quarter in 8.56 @ 168. you'd just look like a poser if it was too close but you could still pull off the military vehicle theme as long as it was different enough

well im in the marine corps and i see tanks, lav's, helo's ect. every day. ive been talkin with him and im trying to do a new "hot" color. like the burnt orange was before it got played out. i really like the way that protege that was painted white looked. it really showed off the msp body lines much like the orange mica. maby a really deep white pearl with a blue base coat to give it some depth. then some ghost mazdaspeed logo down the back guarter panels. still up in the air with ideas, keep em coming!

Hmmm this is quite a choice here, lots of opions I see....
I would keep it simple but lots of flair , thinking basic 1 color with some wild striping but tasteful ,nice deep colors and def flakes to add to the color the striping can be anything that you or the painter likes remember the most important thing its freaking free lol!!!!!
