Does anyone know if there are any oem foglight switches that'll fit the P5 panel that have an indicator light when the fogs are on? Like a small LED or something...........

Why not just fab up an LED in the stock switch?

And....why?

And....why?
Because the fogs suck so badly you can't tell if they're on or off.

I've never had that problem... put some yellow overlays on them, you'll see 'em! ;)

uhh I just dont use them, that is until I get overlays.

You could rewire them to a new switch, but I don't see the point. Mine come on if I have the lights on an they go off if I switch the lights off. Don't bypass all your wiring and it shouldn't be a problem.

Taking all that already known stuff above as NO to the original question. Who doesn't know to look at the ground & tell they're on & yes I know they go off when the key is removed & all that other useless sarcasm. Was simply a question about options, wasn't whining about not telling if they're on or not nor do I care about wiring in some other switch or customizing the oem one with a light. No different than subbing in the MPV wiper sw with adjustable intermittent or putting on the Tribute spray nozzles for mist instead of piss streams but thanks anyways.................

Settle down, it's just the internet.

It's safe to say No to your initial question.

When you find/make something, let us know.

Oh, forgot to mention that I was over it no matter what the answers were way before the first reply & yes, the little blue e on the task bar does take me to the internet every time I click it. If I find somethin I'll share. Not really that high a priority, was just curious mostly.

Something like this maybe?

Google for: car "rocker switch" led
and you'll see this and other possibilities.

I think I've only turned my fogs on a single time, and that was to test them. However my recollection is that I cannot see that switch from my normal driving position because the steering wheel blocks it. So having a switch that lights up when on, but can't be seen, doesn't make a lot of sense for me. It would be pretty easy to run a wire from the fogs side of the switch, through a drop resistor to an LED, and from there via a wire to ground. Then you can mount the LED some place visible. Let's see, assuming the LED needs about 10 mA the drop resistor would have to be roughly 12/.01 = 1200 Ohms. Power dissipated in the resistor is VI = 12 * .01 = .12 Watts. So a 1000 Ohm, 1/4 watt resistor should do it. The fogs will not notice the missing 10mA. You'd have to experiment a bit, depending on the LED 10 mA might give an unsuitable intensity.

Just shit you can use. The excellence of simplicity....thanks

I was confused. The steering wheel blocks my view of the instrument panel intensity adjuster. It's actually my left arm that blocks the view of the fog light switch. The key point remains - the switch isn't visible from my normal driving position.

The switches CAN go in different positions in the panel. Guess I failed to mention that the gay coin holder thing has been replaced with a normal blank on mine & I CAN see the foglight sw when driving.

It's a fairly standard size for switches, check aftermarket places for generic switches with an led status. Never looked for one though.

I know there's a thousand alternatives, the question was about an oem Mazda switch from another model that would crossover like the adjustable intermittent wiper stalk from the MPV & washer nozzles from the Tribute & rear window wiper from a 6 wagon did.
