Get an AWR front mount, It will work awsome but will cause the car to vibrate a bit at idle

Also you can get an AWR rear mount but try the front first as the vibs will be alot.

Side mount i would jus do a stock replacementand maybe an insert if you need more.

Honestly i have an awr front mount and like it and i may replace the rear with a new stock mount.

Any aftermarket mount = Vibrations

If you dont want vibes then purchase a stock motor mount.

Not trying to be an ass but it is the truth.

i really dont care about vibration - but i see different members with different results and will like to explore some options. I am trying to make the ride better with all the + that may come with upgrading the mm , but i know there are several neg with everything.

so i guess awr complpete mount set through protegegarage.com is the best i can do .. any other recomdations

Go with the 70 durometer if you don't want excessive vibration. It will hold the engine in place well enough.

So why does everybody upgrade the motor mounts if they cause vibration??

What are the advantages???

No more drivetrain slop, wheel hop, or broken exhaust parts.

If you don't care about vibes get the full AWR setup in 70 duro--that'll be fine for a street car.

RR-Racing inserts aren't bad either. I did the front mount and did the 2 side inserts from AWR. Passenger side mount was easy but driver side mount was a PITA.

i put in the rear first and the vibrations were crazy and very extreme when the ac was on. then i put in the front and it cut the vibrations in half. once i put the side inserts in the vibration was cut to just a little more than stock, like if you ac was on. i don't even notice it anymore, but people do when they drive my car, but it was one good investment and enjoy it.

That's interesting, so when you put more motor mounts in, it actually reduced vibrations?

that's what i noticed, i put in the side mounts last and i made a world of difference

What kind of vibrations does it cause??

Through the steering wheel? Does the car shake?? How about the revs??

TIA

If you are going to upgrade the front to an AWR (especially if you get the 95 duro item) upgrade the rear one. I didn't - result, rear mount torn as the effect was magnified stress on the rear mount when the engine was put under extreme load (such as launching on a drag strip, doing big skids and so forth).

side ones can and do go - check to see if they are in good order. If torn, the inserts won't do much for you - best bet is to get them filled. I'm having both my side ones filled with 95 duro poly to match the AWR front and rear.

Majority of the advantage in swaping the mounts out is reduced axle tramp - trade off is more vibration (which i don't see as a bad thing - lets my passangers know the car isn't "normal" :P).

Type of vibration it causes - at low RPM you can feel a definate shudder through the majority of the car. Goes away once you are moving.

The entire car kind of vibrates, and you can feel it most through your butt on the seat, and the steering wheel. You may be able to see and hear the dash vibrating too, more applicable to higher durometer. At idle sometimes it may feel like the car is shuddering. You can also hear the resonance the vibration causes in the cabin.

Once you rev up above idle, it's not really noticeable. I think the biggest issue is that it makes the car feel kinda cheap with the vibrations and all, and the added noise can be annoying. But the improvement to engine feel/shifting/responsiveness is fairly noticeable too so for most people it's a worthwhile tradeoff.

Haha, if you're talking about the added engine noise, that sounds kinda nice. But if you're talking about the dash plastic parts rattling, the only thing angry about that is me, while I'm driving.

Humm, certainly a trade off..

I'll have to think about this one.

Just go with inserts all around, no vibrations.

Really?? So inserts front, back and side to side and I'll have the same advantages as the AWR mounts with NO vibration??

No more drivetrain slop, wheel hop, or broken exhaust parts.

I know all about that!! Was at the drag strip last week just curious to see what It'd do, and wheel hopped like a bugger and broke of a piece of the exhaust!:(

Just about, I just didn't install the rear one yet so when they pull my engine from my engine bay(no thanks to my sister), I'll tell them to insert it for me.

Great news!

Thanks so much man. Where did you buy the inserts???

I have the AWR side inserts and the RR Racing front insert, stock rear mount. There is no vibratons felt inside the car, just on the start up. I had a lot more vibration when I had just had the AWR front mount than I do with my current setup.

Just go with front and side inserts, no vibrations.Fixed.

You will get more vibes using an aftermarket rear mount or insert. :)

or unless your setup is like my current one... AWR front mm and the rest 3 shot OEM mounts. My shit vibrates bad at times. You can see in in the steerign wheel, hear the license plate rattle against the hatch... and thats my only rust spot from the plate hitting the hatch...
