you could probably do it with one - and, you don't want them too dark or your tail lights won't light up enough when its sunny out. that could result in a nasty rear-ender.

ya true so you think one can would be good enough

yeah - one can would make them much darker than you probably want. just maybe do the tail lights first, then whatever else.

You could use window tint? This is from a shop in York, Pa.

I don't know how long it will last, but I am sure it depends on the brand of tint you use. He has done plenty of cars and they all look good.

i used stuff similar to nightshades at its awesome!!
if you do it i recommend getting some clear coat spray and go over it after they have settled.
it makes them look SO MUCH BETTER! oh i have my side markers done as well. the lower picture is with out the clear coat though!

tint is going to fall off...think about it, window tint is usually applyed from the inside of the window for a reason.
night shades is good but if you dont know what you are doing, it is easy to mess up and it will turn out nasty
best thing if you want the whole tail light dark is to buy that 3m film and lay it on the lights. (the same stuff you would lay across your front end to prevent rock chips, it comes in clear, light tint, dark tint, yellow, blue, etc). if you do some research, there is a guy on here selling those pre-cut kits for people wanting to over-lay their tail lights, headlights..etc.
03.5-dc-speed: you should wetsand your tail lights with 1000 grit paper and lay on some clear coat on top of that...the difference will be very nice

I want to do my tails I can get any color paint color matched in aerosol cans at a local auto supplier, my plan was to have them mix clear and black so I can do multiple coats for even tinting without being too dark...

i used the vht nightshade and clear coat after! i like it alot!
the rear shot of my car is when i did not have the clear coat on (didnt for like 2 months) and then in the other one i have it on. the clear coat lightened it up and made it cleaner and took away the cloudy look!
