What are my options? Local shop wants $3100 to install new Mazda MP3 trans. If I got one from speed circuit, the shop said 500 for labor. Would the MSP trans fit and is it a better trans? What could I upgrade to? Thanks.

brake down
I bought car with just fewer than 109K. At 125K had problems shifting 5-4. Had the clutch, flywheel, and fluids replaced. Now at 130K when I start the car, have troubles getting it into 1/reverse. After 10-15 seconds of going threw shift pattern, it finally goes into gear. Local shop said it’s internal and they don’t rebuild them, just replace them. They said it’s not cost effective any more to rebuild.

The MSP has a Limited Slip, so thats a bonus. Its a tad weak, but if you aren't running boost or anything major powerwise, it'd be fine.

I blew mine a year ago, I paid $2000CND for everything done (including high end lubs). The transmission itself was $1000CND. (about $900US)
