I was just wondering if anyone would know if there is a chance of Mazda creating more parts for the speed6 themselves, or do you believe that what they have out now is about all that they will have out for the ms6?

I'd like to believe they would, but since the car is gone after this year, chances are slim to none IMHO.

I'm not even sure about that 2009 date. By tradition, Mazdaspeed vehicles come out the last year or two of the product life. If they follow tradition and if we are to believe the 2009 Mazdaspeed release, then that would mean that Mazda only plans to run the next gen 6 up to '09 or '10 which doesn't make a lot of business sense.

I highly doubt they are going to make any more parts for the 06-07 MS6, if they wanted to they would have already. They are more conserned about the about MS3.

The Speed 6 is not coming back for 2009, Mazda is looking toward a possible "anniversary edition" Speed MX-5 for 2009, I have this information on good authoriy.

In addition, look for a 2nd Gen 3 to come out in 2009/2010 as well.

I already got a response from MazdaSpeed themselves saying "no" to a catback for the MS6, so I doubt there'll be anything else.

the car simply did not sell well enough to justify any further investment by mazda. when dealers have $5000 markdowns AND factory rebates and still can't move them there is a problem. customer of mine picked up a loaded GT here with everything for $24000, brand new.

besides, the specs on the 3.7 v6 in the new model year show it to be more powerful than even the DISI 2.3. lord knows what a mazdaspeed variant would offer on top of that :)

Dontcha hate it when something better comes up soon after!

Ya that V6 has potential as Ford has designed it from the start to accept DI and FI. The 2.3 DISI will have better fuel economy though so there's a plus.... ya, I feel better now.

Its funny how much attention the MS3 gets, when the MS6 is so similar but with AWD. I blame Mazda for poorly marketing the car...but I'm not one to complain because I paid about 8K under sticker for it thanks too poor sales.
