WTF? This car showing it's age? It broke on the pivot point for some reason. Looks as thought the plastic got weak, or someone messed with it, and broke it.

lol ya, my car is 6 years old now. The little triangle part where the seatbelt loops into the adjustable shoulder harness thing is cracking...maybe I should get that checked out. My side view mirror is broken as well, vibrates like a sum-bitch when I drive on the interstate. A/C is out on 2 and 3, clutch is slipping, burning oil...etc..etc...
What I am saying is, I feel ya man.

Those are all pretty fixable things. On the burning oil, how many miles do you have?

I had been burning some oil too, but I switched (just to try) a Vavoline high mileage synthetic and so far it seems to be working.
I used to burn about a quart every 1000 miles or so. That was on Mobil 1, 10w-30.
I have some of the same issues with the AC switch, it sometimes works on 2 (fan speed) sometimes not.
My seatbelt switch doesn't turn off anymore now too.
Oh, and I'm at about 75k miles.

About 105,000. Also really worried about it (the engine) because it clicks or lightly knocks on start-up in the 0-3000 RPM range. This lasts for about 3 minutes or so, but it seems it has been getting louder as the months have gone by.
MY car has been through hell though. I really need to get my records from Mazda to see how much they have paid in warranty work; my last calculation was approximately $18,000. This includes, but is not limited to: Engine, Transmission, Motor Mounts, A/C Compressor, A/C Relays, All Power Window _______s (Spaced on the name of the component) With Passenger Side Twice, Battery, Alternator, Struts, Shift Linkage, and much more just can't think of it all.

dude
that's your driver's side mirror.... don't you remember it got smacked a few times in the past? so either someone who messed with it this time finally broke it, or it just broke from fatigue

Tis odd... someone just posted the same type of thread today. Mirror just snapped off apparently out of no where.

is it cold where you are? the low temp coupled with the fatigue might have caused it to do so. plastic gets brittle.

I managed to break the driver's side mirror off my car... a $5 tube of epoxy from the hardware store fixed that, but the mirror vibrates at highway speed.
