Ever since they were announced I've loved the MSP, but I've never been in a position to consider getting one. Now that they've gotten more affordable and I'm going to be in the market for a new daily driver, its getting possible!

I've found a black '03 MSP here locally with 115k miles on it for an insanely low price (less than $9k!). Seems like a lot of miles for the car (thus the price), but I've already put 50k+ on my '05 Subaru so I can't judge :P

Are there reliability concerns on these cars when you're getting up there in miles like that? If I was to go test drive it, what kinds of things should I look out for and be aware of? Is it even worth looking at, or should I just assume they've been beating it and its falling apart? It looks stock to me, but there aren't any under the hood pictures.

Any advice you guys could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The best thing for you to do would be to go see the car in person -- and bring a camera.

Ask to test drive it. See how it feels. And take pictures of it, ESPECIALLY the engine bay .. and then post 'em up here. We can pretty much tell you how well the car was/is maintained by seeing what's going on under the hood. ;)

I know that personally, my MSP has 65K miles on it -- and the only true problems I've had with it have come from my own tampering.
