2003 M6S CD changer issues

CD Changer locked up when changing discs ... took it by a shop and all they want to do is replace is with a new unit for $600.

I just want to pop it off to see if it's an easy fix, but not sure where the tabs are for the center console panel and don't want to tear it up.

Any help?

i think mazda6tech.com has a link that shows how to remove the console and whatnot
