Did them up black with G2 caliper paint kit. I didn't quite realize how big they were till today. I'll post pics later tomorrow but....

....now I can't drive it for 24 hours until the paint totally hardens.. (sick)

Pics below...but not great ones.

Im going to do mine soon. What kinda paint should I get Or should I just buy a kit?Ive seen caliper paint kits a auto zone but I never really looked at them and was wondering if that would be a good kit,I dont want something thats going to chip or fade like most people.

Well I did my with G2 from that same guy you found on Ebay for $36 shipped. I had my paint kit the same week I paid so the guy doesn't mess around. I kind of wish I had gone yellow but if I'm not happy with it I can always clean them again and paint over them I guess. Black on black is very subtle though. I had it on my last car too.

I just did mine yesterday with G2 but in Red to match my car. I was thinking alternatively white. I wanted them to stand out but still fit in. I didn't think white would stand out as much. Ordered it from hubcapsplus for $37 shipped.

Looking good All! (nana)

Did you prep the calipers at all before painting them? When I did my Miata calipers a few years back, I cleaned them with a wire brush and brake cleaner (keep that stuff off paint!) and then put 3 coats of red on them. they came out great. Here's a pic:

What kind of clear coat did you use on your calipers?

Some random high temp crap from home depot... It's hard to find the high temp stuff.. although I doubt it's necessary.. I can't see the calipers getting over 300 degrees...

Looks great! Yeah the G2 kit comes with a pre cleaner you spray on.

you've never seen brake fluid boil??

that's well over 300 degrees

Normal brake fluid boils at less than 300 degrees, only the high performance stuff boils higher.... Most people painting their calipers won't be out on the track boiling fluid.... Even if the fluid gets that hot, I doubt the calipers themselves will. The heat should be dissipated fairly quickly.

And even if the temp gets over 300 degrees for a brief period, only the really cheap paint will start to break down.

I don't see an issue. Like I said, I went high temp just to be safe, but I don't see the neccessity in it.

how did you paint it, is it a spray or a brush ???

The G2 kit I used is a brush on application.
