I also have an 08 silver sport and except for a couple of hard-core motorheads like me, nobody has had any clue what it is - of course, I debadged mine, so unless they really know their Mazdas, nobody will ever recognize it. Of course, when you show what it can do some will start to figure it out.

I just test drove a Mazda Speed 3....................WOW!!!
I would have gotten it tonight (if the payments are right) but there computer system went down. They didn't know how long it was going to take. BACK TO THE CAR!!!!
The car was a silver grand touring model. I got on her a little bit on the highway and Holy Lord Mother of God......As I pressed on the gas it snugged my whole body back in the seat as it were made for my body only. I love this car and will be getting it on Tuesday. MAZDA MADE A DAMN GOOD CAR!

That code doesn't work on 08 Sports.
Congrats on the new car. I've had mine for one week, Blue Sport MS3.

That cracked me up. I remember when I first drove it off the lot I kept thinking the same thing. I kept thinking.... "am I missing something?" The torque kept cracking me up like somehow the car was broken and all this power was from a broken hose on the turbo or something. I couldnt believe the car was real.
For 25k, it is "a damn good car". You said it right.

Congratulations!!! I'm a new owner too. It is a sleeper. A real BLAST to drive. I only learned about them when one smoked me in an autocross. I thought 'how the @#%@ did that little wagon beat me????' Checked it out, read up on them, test drove one and bought it!!(drive)

I want to do the same thing. But all my searches came up saying that only the '3' of the Mazdaspeed on the rear hatch was stuck on with tape. The rest had pegs that stuck through holes on the metal. I did remove the '3', but left the Mazdaspeed piece on. Did your debadging leave holes in the panels? Or are the Mazdaspeed emblems etc. only stuck on???

Yeah I read that also. But he said his 2008 was a Grand Touring. The mileage computer is standard on the GT.

Hey guys! Thanks for the warm welcome!
I have a few, quick questions:
1. What does "unlocking the trip computer" mean? What does it do for your car?
2. I'm driving the car hard for the so-called "break-in" process. When should I get my first oil change? I found that somebody said 500 miles unlike the manual. He was also a strong advocate of "drive hard for break-in".

Take it easy until your rings and bearings have a chance to seat.
Dang man, just listen to some instructions.
Break it in right and it'll be good to you for a long time.

The cars are ran and supposedly broken in from the factory, no break in period is needed... and break in procedures are more a matter of personal preference anyway.
I break mine in hard and make sure those rings are seated... no matter the car...

snookwheel, sorry for being so late getting back to this and congrats on the debadge - to me it looks SOOO much cleaner that way and I love not being noticed unless I want to be. ;)
I think my next mods will be tint (almost mandatory where I live to survive the summers) and probably painting the Mazda logos black just because I think it will look great on our silver cars. That should be plenty for the looks department without making it attract attention and ruin the sleeper effect.

I just had my silver msp3 tinted. It looks good and really keeps it cooler. I'll post a pic later.
