its time for some new rubber and i'm debating on which tire to get. I've narrowed to down to either the Azenis rt-615, the hankook z212, or the bridgestone re-01r. Have you guys used any of these tires?

Azenis in a 50 series and don't make multiple threads linking to this one. Just continue to bump one single thread.

I've had the Azenis RT-615. They are a great tire- but I was using them not only as a street tire but also as an autox tire and occassionaly track tire. Wet traction is surprisingly good as long as there is at least 1/2 the tread depth, otherwise hydroplaning is a very real possibility. They are loud on just about any road surface. Their stiff sidewalls heighten steering response while making the ride stiffer.

Is your car purely street driven?

Same goes for me. I have been using RT-615 for the last 2 seasons for autox.
They are a sure value. The RE-01R is suppose to be stickier and widthstand heat better then the Falkens, but with not as stiff shoulders. I might try the Bridgestones next season.
As for the 'kooks they lack in braking grip compared to the others if they are not shaved. Not many people are running the 'kooks up here now. Most are on Falkens but the Bridgestones are supposedily faster.

i like the way they "warn" in a curve.. and let the back of the car slide a little..

i dont auto x. its just my daily driver, and ive got some good twisty roads in my area, so i go down those frequently.lol

actually its the FZ4, not 4. my mistake. but nontheless, still very impressed with the tire thus far. been little more than a week so far with the wheels on.

By "track" I'm guessing you mean road course.

Where do you live? Do you need to have winter wheels/tires?

Good street and track tires:
Falken Azenis RT-615
Kumho Ecsta MX
Hankook Ventus something or other
Bridgestone Potenza RE050

dude i know this sounds a little cheap but to be honest with you they are the best tires ive had so far. they are the cooper zeon zpt. around corners they grip the road like no tomorrow and doesnt let the back slide it makes the car feel so solid they arent that expensive either but i would suggest them if you want to save a little money

The Cooper Zeon ZPT are little known, but good tires from the reviews I have read. It's a decent tire and a good competitor to the Yoko ES100, Toyo Proxes4, etc. Seriously though, the type of tire you go with all depends on your budget and what you plan on doing with the tire. I run Falken Azenis 615 during the summer and auto-x, because I am too lazy to switch wheels at the events. If you want nice high performance summer tires, here is the list I go by:

Summer only tires:
General Exclaim UHP
Cooper Zeon 2XS
Yokohama ES100
BFGoodrich g-Force Sport
Falken Azenis Rt615
Hankook Ventus Rs2

All-Season tires:
Toyo Proxes 4
Falken Ziex Ze 912
Cooper Zeon ZPT

lol

I put a set of those on my Mom's Sentra years ago in 175-70-13 size.

I wouldn't put them anywhere near my MSP

My favorite all weather/temperature tire (daily driver):
BF Goodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S
(http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/overview/g-force-super-sport-a-s/3906.html)
Really smart block pattern and sipes. Even if you’re not a tire expert - when you compare the tread pattern of this tire with others you'll probably recognize how much better designed it is for all weather traction. Long tread life and balanced grip for all conditions. It'll be a long time before anyone makes a better all conditions tire.

My favorite street legal/track ready dry/warm weather tire:
Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 (http://www.dunloptires.com/dunlop/display_tire.jsp?prodline=Direzza+Sport+Z1&mrktarea=Performance&treadwidth=215&aspectratio=45&rimdiameter=17&sidewall=BSW&prodID=26502684800000&zipCode=)

Huge block pattern + soft compound = gripay...and I think it looks really cool :)

My favorite street legal/track ready wet/warm weather tire:
Goodyear Eagle F1 (http://www.goodyeartires.com/goodyeartireselector/display_tire.jsp?prodline=Eagle+F1&mrktarea=Performance&treadwidth=215&aspectratio=45&rimdiameter=17&sidewall=VSB)

Center to edge sipes and temperature reactive compound that works even when wet.

The Falken Azenis really WHERE awesome and this is a great recomendation - but they changed the RT-615 this year. If you can find a set of the old Azenis (and you can tell by looking at them because they have a huge square block pattern) they stick really good in warm dry weather.

The RT-615 has never had large tread blocks. The RT-215 did. But I've found the RT-615 better in every respect to the RT-215. Better heat tolerance, better wear, better wet grip, better dry grip. If you can find a set of RT-215, then you've found yourself a tire that's about 2 years old now. And a 2 year old tire, even if it hasn't been used, is still 2 years old and won't be as good as a new tire. Tires don't age gracefully.

I got to drive on a new set of RT-615s this spring. My friend put them on his autocrossy CRX and I swore I remembered them as having large square blocks. I also remembered how good they worked.

Anyway, when I looked at the tire online just a minute ago it was different than what I remembered so I figured they must have changed them - but I can now confirm that Tom03es is right - the RT-615 hasn’t changed - my memory did :) However, the tread blocks do look bigger on the tiny 195/60R14s that you’d find on my friends CRX....and he's also right that it's never a good idea to buy 'old' tires.

The new RT-615s are amazing, and they are indeed lasting longer than I remember the RT-215s lasting.
