Hey guys, I have a mazdaspeed proteage 2003 with 14,000 miles.
I am planning on selling my vw, and investing the money into the mazda.
how much hp can i get with 5,000 dollars.

$5,000 will allow you to safely add some pretty significant power to your MSP. But even then, you need to realize that the MSP is not the best platform if you are solely interested in raw straight-line power. It can be made quick (mid to high-13 secs or so) without too much trouble, but don't expect 11's or 12's. To its merit, the MSP has exceptional balance -- it's handling and braking capabilities even in stock form are quite impressive, even more so when you consider that it is a front-engine, front-wheel drive machine.

Like every car, the MSP has it's quirks...and it has a lot of them.

As it's been almost 3 years since I totaled my MSP, I'll defer to the resident experts for suggestions and guidance :)
