ok... long story short yesterday there was a thread going on about a boost sensor.. and its validity and where it was etc... any way... does anyone else have Mitsubishi parts in thier car? i have ( pulling on long term mem) A mitsu boost sensor... ( STOCK) now.. i may be wrong about what part it is.. but its mitsu... anyone else notice/have this... can confirm? know why?

Mitsubishi is a HUGE electronics firm, aircraft company, etc. as well as making cars. It's not so shocking that other companies would source some of their electronic do-dads, it's much cheaper than developing their own.
I've seen the three diamonds under the hood of at least one of my Mazdas.

i know on RX7's some alternators were from DSM (diamond star mitsubishi)... and quite a few electronics where from there as well.
As Foolish said they have lots of divisions and their electronics (specifically car electronics) has proven itself.
Also from a manufacturer perspective its easier to get that sensor/electronic part from another company and let them do the R&D and manufacturing of it. And in the event it fails or causes a catastrophe theres someone to point the finger to, someone to reclaim cash from, etc etc....

i've also noticed several sensors, valves etc. have the DSM logo it pissed me off a bit considering that i have an anti-dsm logo in my rear right window. worlds a funny place.

Uhh.. DSM doesnt stand for Diamond Star Mistubishi.. It stands for Diamond Star Motors..

our old 85 ranger had mitsu parts
and the gtx bpt in my garage has mitsu parts (they say it)course there sensors.
