So I installed Stoptech Rotors and Axxis pads on my wife's car last week. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. The bed in procedure went great, the brakes are incredible. However-- they squeal at very low speeds down to the stop.

THIS- my friends, is where I'm an idiot.

Not only did I neglect to re-install the wire springs on each front brake pad, they also made it into the old pads and rotor boxes.. in my garbage last week. Garbage day has past- and I now have squeaky brakes because I am missing the anti-squeak (?) wire springs on each front brake pad.

Aftermarket dealers (I think) do not manufacture these, and Mazda only sells them with new OEM brake pads.

Is there anyone here in the forum that somehow has collected an extra set, or have an idea on how to get rid of the squeaking?

THANK you so much for you time. (braindead)

i feel ya, and yes, i believe some speedshops CAN get you some.

i had one over here that could..

the problem i had is when i did my brakes 5 months after i bought the car, the wire v-springs in the back were not here..

i ended up buying OEM rear pads anyways as i needed some..

Call up some local salvage yards and just buy some pads off a junked Protege. www.car-part.com

I mistakenly threw away the shims for my brake pads and was able to get replacements at Autozone, much to my surprise. Check with a few parts stores and see if you can get the springs, you may get lucky.

I had this problem too. I think you can by a brake hardware kit which includes these. Ask some of the oem part guys on here to see if they can get this for you.

you can get the springs and clips from Advance auto parts, or any where that sells raybestos products. look for raybestos part number H15753
