2001 Mazda Protégé 2.0 LX, Header pipe
Hello everyone,
Not sure that I am posting this question in the right section, but here goes. I was doing some research online for parts for my Mazda Protégé, when I came across this forum. I didn’t know such a community existed. I think it really great and very informative. I was hoping someone here could give me a little feedback with my situation. The header pipe on my Mazda Protégé broke and needs to be replaced. I checked a couple of places including a Mazda, just to get an idea of how much it would cost me to have it repaired. The part itself is quite expensive. My question to you guys is do I have any other options? Besides the car sounding load, will the broken header pipe affect my engine and create more problems for me. Does anyone know of any place I can find this part at a discounted cost? Can I use a header pipe from a 1.8 model? Any feedback and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
