oookkk... heres the deal. i took my car in 4 an oil change this past friday and to make sur eeverything was workin good b4 i headed on a road trip. i asked them to take a look at my transmission cuz it felt like it was slipping... it wasnt the 1st tim ei had asked them to look at it but thats another story... n e ways...they heard a knocking in my engine which i hadnt heard b4, come to find out the screws had come loose of the intake and fallen in.
according to them there had been a recall back in 2006 on the intakes because the screws came loose and caused engine damage. at the time of the notice i took it my local mazda dealer where they looked at the intake did i think what she described as a pressure (air) test and everything looked ok but they didnt replace anything.
well i have since moved from that area ( not too far just not close enough to go to that dealer). the new dealer said that they replaced all the custmers intakes, even if they saw nothing wrong just because it was prone to happen.
well, here i am having my screws fall out. mazda then told me i was not covered by the recall anymore because the dealership had closed the notice. but the new dealership said they would cover the parts but i had to pay labor, and the rental car since they deemed my car not drivable...
i called corporate and they told me that since the district manager had authorized them to pay for the parts there is nothing else they could do... and now, as we speak, the district manager is at the dealership looking into things.
has this ever happened to anyone else?? what do u think i should do??
