black open mouth grille?

I was wondering if anyone has or has seen a black autoexe grille fitted to a non-black car. I'm wondering how it'll look. I'm getting one soon, not sure if I should just do it body color, or try the black. I'm thining it could work, since the original top of the upper grille is glossy black anyway, but of course that one doesn't wrap all the way around so I don't know.

Thoughts, opinions, pics?

i think it would look good, alot of people have the carbon fiber grilles and its just about the same color as black, just the hood will not match but i think it will look sweet.

I think it may match the silver better than yellow... just my intuition though. Also I think it'll probably match much better if the headlights are blacked out.

It probably makes a huge difference what kind of black is used too. I think I might try a trim colored black to make it less visible, especially since nothing else on the car is glossy black (that I'm aware of)

Looks good! Does the cf have a glossy/polished finish? I'm hoping for something even a little less visible... it'd be cool if it blended in with the black mesh.

I'm wondering why you'd pay the extra cheese for CF if you don't really want to see it all that well.

I'm not getting a CF one, I'm getting a regular fiberglass one. liljae8 is the one with the CF. =)

I'm wondering what it would look like if I just sanded the fiberglass and didn't paint it. I saw someone who did that with a mazda3. Of course the fiberglass would have to be black in the first place...

a cf grill just went on sale in the fs section, think hes asking 90 plus shipping, you could always just repaint it, thats a prety good deal

IMO it would look cool with the center of the hood between the body lines painted black where it would look like it carried right into the grill.....or do it body color.
