Stock headunit question.

Ok, I think mine finally bit it. No biggie if it did but I kind of dont want to spend money on that right now. Anyway the unit plays music and everything works except for the screen. It doesnt show anything on the display and the reset button didnt help. Any thoughts?

Yep, part of your ribbon cable broke. Mine did it too. Expect about 2 more weeks before it craps out completely.

Damn. I was gonna buy the DSM afc with the money I am now going to be spending on a headunit. Oh well.

Just buy a new ribbon cable and fix it yourself. The parts are cheap and there's a how-to on this forum about fixing it.

Yep, ribbon cable....nice to have the face plate go into radio to protect it, but i wonder why you need to protect it if in fact that is breaking the cable???? To Kenwood guys.... bad design!


Just fix it, it's very simple to take apart and fix... just need some patience.
