Hey,

My name is Jay, I drive a 92 Eunos 30X V6 ( Mazda MX-3 GS) , I was wondering why theres not a section here for the MX-3? How many people here drive one ?

I just bought mega Squirt 2.2 and it will be installed by this summer. My goal is to have around 250 whp and 250 wtq with around a mid 12 sec car. Oh yeah it's my DD.

Nice MX-3...Looks like it's in good condition..How many Km/Miles?

What sort of mods do you have planned for the future? :D

78,000 kms ,

Its my first car so I cant do much to the engine rite now as the insurance would be too high, visual mods will be going onto it over the next few months,
ie: full body kit, new paint job (custom colour), 17" alloys ( gun metal finish ).
New stereo waiting to be installed , new bucket seats/ all leather interior .

It already has a sports suspension,(haven't checked the details of exactly what kind yet, but it is lowered about 25mm) its a 1.5ltr so when I can afford the insurance for it I'll get an engine swap done.

Any suggestions on what I can do to improve performance (without my insurance hunting me down and killing me) are welcome.

yes , if I dont then my insurance is automaticly canceled if I make a claim and they find out about a mod that I didnt tell them about , and my insurance goes up if I put any performance mod on.

Decided to start on project mx-3 today , so I (tried) to clean the engine to the best of my abilities , even tho it hailing and thundering like crazy !

I just recently got into a accident in my 95 5 speed RS 1.6 DOHC and other then the passenger door being smashed in she runs smooth like hockey ice! I just and I mean JUSt got a new half axle cv joint on drivers side and the best brake shoes I could for the back brakes. Also car has 2 Goodyear weatherhandler 185/65 14 with 90 % tread left. She just got a PA safety and emissons test like 2 days before the crash. Engine and tranny run great and car tracks straight Im most likely trading it in on saturday and most likely the car will be sold to a junker but contact me through here, I will check back constantly but you'd have to be close by as car is driveable but not very comfy over 40 mph! But Id rather see the car or parts live on and be used then to rust and go to waste in a yard

I've been around for a while, but I'm new to the MX-3 world. Picked up a non running KLZE swapped 93 GS over the weekend for $300. Just have to either rebuild or replace to get it back on the road. It should be a fun little car once it is rolling again.

new to forum (cabpatch) just signed up today, I have a '92 mx-3 with the B6-ME/2E 88hp engine. it was my first car and i have done no real mods. Im planning on painting the rims black in a few days to get away from the stock appearance. One thing I really want to do but is going to be super risky, is to swap my engine for a Mazdaspeed3 engine, the obvious problem is hood clearance, engine bay size, and the fact that (as far as i know) no one has done it before. If i'm able to pull it off its going to be sick!!

the only things i did change was a stereo and upholstery, the pic is when we were halfway done with the front seats, passenger side is new upholstery and drivers side was old upholstery but now same as passanger side.

I think you should have enough engine bay space to get the MS3 engine in there.

If you keep the IC on the top of the motor I dont think you will get it in the car with the hood. You should be able to get a FMIC setup and have the clearance.

yes that is what i was thinking another but i would rather go with the FMIC anyway cuz i already saw some cool ones that give the DISI engine better boost holding capabilities and of course it cools the engine better

right now i'm running a sick ol 88 hp lol.

Hey All! I Own a 92 Mazda Mx3 1.6l and well.. when i bought her, she didnt have her stock steering wheel, and the previous owner took crappy care of her, the paint is pretty bad and well my piston rings are blown now... i have alot of bypass so i've been thinking of a BP-T swap but i just ordered new piston rings. going to start workin on it at the end of the week. here is a few pictures of her.

It sucks to hear ur car wasn't treated well by the previous owner. I recommed you check out corksport (an approved forum merchant) for any future needs of mx-3 parts as they are one of the few companies that make stuff for mx-3s.

I used to have an MX-3. I loved that car so much. Havent been able to find another one in good enough condition to buy that is a reasonable price. I'll continue searching tho..

MX-3 vs tractor trailer (damage doesnt look bad, but I got hit on the interstate, both of us were doing 70 + mph, I got stuck to his front end, he pushed me, I spun off and bounced all 4 corners off cement jersey walls.. rear suspension buckled and the frame was tweaked)

i would have never expected an mx-3 to take that much punishment. There is one mx-3 for sale way over here in cali.
I know what u mean though, mx-3 are really rare and I have only seen 4 other mx-3s were I am from. thats cool u had the v6 version. must have been a lot more fun than my 88hp single cam 4 cylinder lol.

my mx-3 runs pretty well with the exception of a kinda harsh automatic tranny due to the fact that it got replaced right before I bought it. The engine itself is very good and the handling is great. :D

Welcome and I've always liked the MX-3....have never had a chance to own one.

The BP-T is the turbo variant of the BP engine.

also, a friend of mine has a Talon and has a program hooked up from the ECU (I think?) and he can change basically everything from the program DSM Link (I'm pretty sure it's called) anyway, do you know if the MX-3 has anything like that where you can override certain things like RPM cutoff and the torque band as well?

REALLY interested in that since I wanna go turbo soon!

I was looking at the mx-3 forums and according to them a lot of people use the megaSquirt system on turbo'd MX-3s so it should work good with the bp-t

sorry how newbish I am.. but, even after reading all that was on that page, I was thinking a few things to myself,

1)can I get that and just plug it in?
2)do I need a different ECU or something?
3)if I get the KL-ZE engine, can I still use the Megasquirt? (I know Iwould have to reprogram stuff around)

its all good dude, I am not new to the forum but as far as modding an mx-3 I am a noob too. my mx-3 is stock. But I have seen a lot of stuff and am good at researching stuff. :D
1. you can get the megasquirt system in individual parts that you put together. But i would recommend you get the already built and cased system.
2. from what I can tell MS is used on a bunch of KL-ZEs.
As far as installing it, idk if it is just plug and play or not, read this to get more answers. http://www.megamanual.com/index.html
remember that there are different versions of the megasquirt system so you should probably look at all of them to see which one would suite your needs.
