my protege just had a new alternator put in, but the alternator doesn't seem to be charging the battery- the starter is perfectly fine but when I drive it, the voltage light will go on and off. It did this for about a week then died completely. Wiring issues? something overlooked by the shop? The ground point was moved at the same time, as that point on the frame was corroded a bit...

i'm having the same problem on my 2000 dx, had a engine swap, worked fine 2months after the it died on me and drained my battery, any one have the wiring diagrams /??

See if your getting twelve volts to fat wire going to alternator and of course make sure it is tight. then make sure your getting a secure signal from pcm to command alternator on. I have seen faulty pcm cause this issue. (also make sure connections at battery are tight
