Help! Power Locks

The passenger side front power lock does not respond to the remote anymore. When the button is pushed to lock or unlock the doors, there is a loud whirring sound from the door. Could this just be a dead motor? How much do these usually run? and I better looking for a replacement in a junkyard? I did a search and nothing came up,. Thanks.

lol typically its a problem w/ people posting OT threads in vehicle specific areas, now the oposite...come on Donas, you know better :p

Sounds like a dead motor or perhaps a broken part if the motor is still "whirring"

Door lock actuator not the motor. They always make a buzzing sound when they go out.

Great. Now I don't have to pay a diagnostic fee. much appreciated. It an easy thing to fix myself or should I take it to the local mechanic. For reference I suck at fixing stuff. I mean I can replace bulbs, change tire, change oil etc. but I don't think I could ever take my motor apart or anything.
