View Full Version : Oil & spark plugs for turbo?

hello everyone,
just wanted to get some input on whats the best kind of oil and weight to use and what kind of spark plugs are best for a turbo protege 5. its a Garrett T25 turbo. my car has just a little over 101 000 miles and im just pushing 5 - 7 psi when i drive the car. i only put about about 300 miles on it per month since i drive it occasionally. any input will be appreciated. thanks.

Spark Plugs- NGK ZFR6F-11
Oil- Factory Recommended but in Synthetic

Get the ungapped version of those plugs. The -11's come pre-gapped to .044 in. (1.1 mm, I think?) and from what I've read that's a little too much for turbocharged Proteges. I'm currently running those but I want to switch to regular ZFR6F's and gap them to 0.028-0.032 which is the recommended gap for MSP's at 6 psi.

For oil, depending on you location either 10w30 or 5w30.
