My daughters ES has been cutting off lately. Almost all the time it's fine. But occasionally it acts as if there is a disconect switch for everything electrical. I always happend when she tried to start it, sometimes even while jumping it. Today, for the first time, it happened while she was driving it. She said it just quit, with everything electrical going dead. Then before the car rolled to a stop, it all came back on.
Now it's a safety issue.
Is there a grounding cable to the block? Any other ideas? My next thing it to take it to a electrical repair shop. She can't drive it like this.
It has been a FINE car for her for the last 2 years with no problems, then this crops up.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Mine had done something like that before and the whipers would come on randomly and the car would stall out and act funny. Its probably something different than what your having problems with but I somehow got a few wires that were comming loose around the ECU and motor wiring harnesses. Dealer fixed it tho, was 4k worth of labor to find out where the problem was, it was covered under my extended warranty tho. I would take it to mazda and see if they cant find the problem, but dont let them spend too much time on the car or you'll end up getting ripped the hell off Hopefully its just something little like a ground or something.
