Short Throw Shifter

So I want to get a short throw shifter, and I was looking at my current shifter and it looks like it is welded in there. I could be wrong, but how would I go about taking the original shifter out? And any suggestions on a new shifter would be much appreciated.

Search the How to section...I beleive there is a post in there...I've got the TWM...and love it...also B&M and Kartboy....plus some Ebay brands.

TWM includes instructions on their website. you will have to get under the car and you will have to pull apart some panels around the shifter. i had the kartboy shifter, found some instructions on the forum, and it was a cakewalk--and good for me considering sears wont let me near their tools section!
