anyone know what psi is supposed to be in each cylinder? my engine might be on its way out finally .want to do a compression check to make sure that is the problem before going ahead and wasting money a built block.

Last time I checked it was 180 across the board, but you might wanna ask some talent around here first.

Specs are as follows:
Max Compression - 171 psi
Min Compression - 119 psi
Max Variance - 28 psi

Your readings look fine...

I ran mine today and got 181-182-179-184. This was done with a hot engine.

No problem.

It seems the same compression numbers are listed for turbo and n/a 2.0 FDSE applications. Higher compression readings could be due to turbocharger or slight innacuarcy of compression tester. My 8.5:1 compression engine tested at 170 across the board, which was a lil higher than I expected, because of the lower compression ratio.

mine checked out at 180 across the board

I am just happy knowing that all of my cylinders were close. I thought I had lost one of them. car has been acting strange under high boost.

Would it be possible there's still a problem with the head gasket even though compression numbers are 180 across the board? I have oil residue on the 2 front center studs and a slight dried up oil residue running from the studs down to the exhaust manifold. It's not THAT obvious unless you look for it.

Anyone suggest anything?

I actually thought about retorquing the head. But I haven't actually researched it (my guess would be its not recommended).
