I've had my CB Speed3 for exactly 1 week now and I've already got 2 scratches on the hood , a ding in the driver's side rear door and a dent the size of a quarter that's trough the paint to the metal on the driver's side rear quarterpanel. None of them done or caused by me. Why is it that people have no respect for anyone else's stuff anymore?(flame)
Sorry for the rant of a Newbie, but somedays you just have to yell or you end up shooting people...

DUDE that blows man. All I have is some chips out of the hood because Mazda paint is cheaper then my g/f's nail polish.

Tell me about it, people do suck! My 3 was 5 days old when it got scraped in a parking lot, and the person left a false business card too. Nice person!

Where are you parking your damned car? Next time your in a parking lot, find the last spot, park there and walk. I never have door dings, dents or anything else on my cars. Do you live in the city somewhere? I can see that happening in Brooklyn

Actually, I'm in Springfield, IL. 100k people or so. And I do park as far as possible when I can. It's just frustrating as hell. I just traded my 2001 audi S4 for the MS3 and Ihad that for 3 years, and it never took punishment like this...WTF?!
Maybe, I'm just (un)lucky? (eyeballs)

LOL, with all due respect, people seem to appreciate an Audi more so than your regular every day Mazda (most people just see a regular econobox with the MS3) I guess time will tell out here but I park it like I do my mustang and I never have issues.

I always find a more expensive car than mine in the back of the lots to park next to.
But no matter how centered in the spot I make it, EVERY TIME i've come out and there's some half assed effort to park next to me, and they left 6 inches. I just know they had to hit my car to get out.
I need to wash it and take a look - I'm afraid to really, in case I find a scratch.
How did you get scratched on the hood? Do you have cats?

I usually do park my car at the end of the lot away from everyone and I do walk! Mines the car sitting all by itself away from everyone, this time though I had no choice. It was at my son's baseball game and the parking lot was the only one there, no street parking either. The spaces were straight in, not at an angle. I even said to my friend who went with me that I hope I didn't get my new car hit. Well guess what, I did.

I park as far a way as possible also, and I dont park under the tree at my house if its not in the garage because our cat would jump from the tree to the hood and then to the ground if I did that.

LOL, I didn't even see your first post, I was responding to the other guy. That sucks that they made a half assed effort with the business card too. That'd irritate me even more.

Sorry dude but I lol'd at this even though that's horrible :(
I prefer to park near islands so I can get CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to the island leaving LOTS of room between me and the space next to me. This is only day 1 of taking the car to work, but I feel pretty confident nothing will happen haha.

it was a rock from a dump truck... i thought it hit my windshield and when i didn't see a mark i continued on my way the next day when i came out to my car i was like WTF is that on my hood.... i never saw the name of the company the dump truck was with so there was nothing i could do...

I have a reserved parking spot next to my boss's M3. And I have a big garage at my apartment where we park our 2 Rangers on either side of my car.
That was factored into my decision to get the car. If I felt it would get banged up at work and home, then I wouldn't have invested so much into something I couldn't keep protected.

Werd. My fiance used to complain SOOOO much the first year we dated. Now, she's so used to it, that she starts pointing out corner spots, spots near the islands, and spots good spots at the end of the lot. (rofl)
That's the most effective deterrent IMO, but those spots aren't always available, and sometimes some 455hole will inexplicably park next to you, at the nosebleed end of the lot, even if there are literally 50 spaces between you and the closest car... (<--That's happened to me three times, now)

That sucks. My MS3, too, has dings. I hate stereotyping, but in my 12 years or so of driving, I found minivan drivers (and their kids), SUV drivers (again their kids), and old people who drive larger cars (Caddy, Buick) are the usual suspects who don't care about banging their doors against other cars. That's just been my personal experience, and I'm sure others have differing opinions.

^ I saw an SUV pull into a space once and park. The kid in the back proceeded to kick the door open so hard, he d4mn near knocked the car beside them over onto it's side...
I cringed.
