HELP getting cv joint apart

I have a torn boot, on a perfectly good axle. I also have an oem boot to put on it. Problem is, i cant get the axle to come out of the green body. Any ideas? It looks like there is a lip that comes and stops the balls from coming out all the way. is there a trick to it?

There is a small snap ring I believe. It's been a while since I've had one apart. The ring should sit down in a little groove. Just take a pointy tool like an icepick and pop it out.
