I am potentially interested in purchasing AWR motor mounts from ProtegeGarage. However, I have a few questions before I make a final decision. I sent an email about this a few weeks ago but never received a response.

1) Why is the full set ($195, I believe) more expensive than buying the front & rear mounts ($139) and side inserts ($45) separately? Does the full set include something else?

2) Are the vibrations caused by the stiffer mounts really that bad? I know AWR recommends the 95A mounts for MT cars, but some of the people on this site have said they've ended up switching their AWR mounts - even the 70A - for competitor's mounts because the vibrations were so bad. It's hard to gauge having never used anything but the stock mounts.

Thank you!

They do vibrate but it doesn't bother me cause the MSP isn't my daily driver. I'm sure if you were driving it to work everyday it would get a bit annoying. Different interior pieces have started to vibrate, but then you just tighten everything up.

For the gains you get though I feel it is worth it. On launch the car just goes, no wheel-hop, or much wheel-spin at all. Also when you shift you can tell you're getting more power to the ground when engaging the next cog. Well worth it in my opinion.

1) thats a pricing issue that needs to be rectified on the site. the price of the front and rear should list 149, not 139.

2) well lets for a moment throw everything out the window. there are three durometers of AWR; 70, 88 and 95. 95 really is for an all out no compromise performance or track setup. I would not put these on an automatic transmission vehicle. for the faint of heart, 95 is not the way to go. i use 95 on all four corners of my own car and honestly i am not fazed by it. i hate driving cars with soft motor mounts now because the gas pedal feels like a sponge to me. the 88s are a decent compromise, but for some are still a tad harsh. the 70s to me are a waste of money. by the time you get used to them and they break in a bit, you're going to ask yourself where the gain went.

now, one thing most people don't take into account - just putting one mount in probably won't feel too hot. i always recommend at least doing the side inserts with the front mount to even out or evenly distribute the vibration. most people with complaints do one mount and then balk after a week and go with a softer one.

thats my .02

thanks Ken. I will be ordering the full set as soon as I have the funds available!

For an automatic what do you recommend ken.. because my gas pedal does feel like a sponge in 1st gear.. its really embarrasing... it feels like no power at first off the line then once i hit 2nd gear BAM!
