so for the past two months ive had a lot of problems that ended up being a crack mani and clogged cats. I went with a custom tubular mani and hollowed the cats out. Now im spiking at 13 psi and holding at like 10psi. I have a turboxs mbc...didnt turn it down. my buddys profec didnt work either.

Point is theres and big thing goin on at the track i go to and i wanna run this weekend but dont have time or cash to put an external wastegate on. AM i at risk to blow something major or should i just say F@ck it? It runs good just drivin around but i havent actually ran it yet

you could take the mbc off if your wanting to lower the boost.
what other supporting mods do you have? any engine management? fmic? intake i hope?

if you really want to go lower boost but not stock, get an ATP WGA it's set aroun 8 so we that you should be safer than 13 psi..

at spiking 13 psi it's ticking time bomb dude.. your playing with fire :(

What mods do you have? That 13 psi spike is no good man. Its too bad so
MSP's are a bitch trying to regulate the boost properly. I'm running a Greddy Profec II and the spike is still there but not quite as bad an an MBC. It spikes to 11 then holds between 8 to 9.3 psi gear dependent. On a good day it will spike around 10.5 then hold 9 psi in all gears. It seems the slower the boost response and the less spike then the car will pull a lot harder and hold higher boost. Take off the mbc. Is the mbc the only thing connected to the WGA to manifold vac line?

that is with the mbc off. It makes no difference on or off.
I dont have the atp wga but i have a differnt wga from street unit, i guess it supposed to 8 psi too.
Yes i have intake, exhaust mani, and i dont kno if it makes a difference but i did get the ecu flash, but no type of ems or any other "supporting" mods.
I did the clutch and lsd but thats not really realated to this I did try my buddys profec but that didnt bring it down, maybe 12.5.
Theres nothing on the line to the wga, just bov.

so what do we think...ya or na?

There is no way that a boost controler will lower the boost more than stock. I know that with the free flowing exhaust the boost will rise over stock and it being an internal waste gate makes that worse. I think the one actuator you have is a 8psi and the ATP is 6psi I may be wrong. I hate to spend money or tell people to spend money but you may have the wrong wga for your set up.

The ECU flash will make your problem much worse(you shouldnt boost over 10psi with the reflash EVER, when you have higher boost levels it is better to pull some timing for safety)....you are running waaay too much boost with even more advanced timing than stock...youre going to blow your bottom end out.

well i thank u for your guys input dont kno what to do. I might just run it and try to mess somethin up just for an excuse to upgrade. Prolly not but i appreciate it

check you WGA, it could be a 10 or a 12 too..

be absolutely sure of what it is before you mod anything else.. your missing parts of the puzzle before you can start a new one..

if you ask around here, those who are running catless with a ATP WGA don't go that high..

maybe you should invest in a 60$ WGA again and get the ATP this time.. then see the results.. it,s way better to pay 60$ and have piece of mine..

do it right

I wouldnt do that unless you have enough money to upgrade the entire engine...you are running the risk of shooting a rod right through your engine block...which has happened to many people already
