There's just way to many people to pay at the dealerships to make anything profitable, that's why the prices are so damn expensive. They have people to do every tiny job for customers convenience, it gets expensive.

I always order from Rosenthal Mazda, they have good prices.
He said $612 plus 20 for the gaskets. Its not terrible price for oem...couple hundred more than the custom aftermarkets...which no one has any long term experience with.

are you trying to cover up for the stealerships?
i mean look at the exaust manifold.. it's made by Callaway... so THEY make a profit over it, then sell it to mazda who makes about 40% over it..
and prolly that callaway has no right to sell it directly to the end user.. it must be signed in a contract somehwere.. so that way mazda rules all..

Or Calloway engineered the system for mazda, mazda casts it. It's not "some guy with steel and a welder operation" In actuality they probably manufacture the manifolds for pennies on the dollar of what they cost. But thats ok, they're just asking fair market for what a custom engineered manifold is worth.
