Just got my latest batch of Split Second (formerly DSM) AFCs for the Mazdaspeed Protege in stock! I ordered five with the ability to log from a wideband and five without. Already four of the wideband capable units are sold :) These will go fast and lead time on them is 2-4 weeks once sold out, so if you are looking to get one, don't hesitate!

yes it can, you just need to tune it right. out of the box it is tuned for FI. if you get the right map or tune it yourself it would be perfect. other than tuning it, it would work.
i got this information from the guy from split second and ken.

So all I would need to tune it is a laptop and a map right??

yes you would need a laptop. my understanding is that there are N/A maps out there, but primarily so that N/A cars can run turbo setups. it is a simple system to tune. basically since you are looking to pull some fuel out you would need a wideband or dyno and then make adjustments in the software that pull fuel back out. your best bet is to start with a zeroed out map and work down from that. without timing control however you will not be making the best possible gain.

I ordered a version I. Is there still one of the 5 remaining? I have to have surgery in a couple weeks. It'll be torture if it gets here after surgery, and i have to look at it for 5 weeks while I recover :)

This unit is bang for the buck. I have now good driverbility and power. Plus you are buying a product form a vendor that sells the right products for our cars.

the tune that comes on the AFC should be good out of the box. tuning with a laptop and the supplied software is pretty easy, i would recommend using a wideband or a dyno to get the best tune out of it.

Did about 2 hours of data logging then got the car dyno tuned.

i don't like to ship items this expensive with US Mail typically, nor do I usually mark lower values for insurance purposes.

Well if the AFCs are made in USA, then I'm sure the NAFTA applies, so that defeats the purpose of lowering values.
Off topic, instead of lowering values, I usually get the people to write warranty replacement and the full value.(2thumbs)

exactly juste write warranty replacement and that would be great this is what www.*************** doesn for us. and im ordering a lot from them. but your the only people that has the afc. and usps are wondeerfull their work great. but ups theire charging broker fees witch are rediculuss. when i purchase the msp ecu their were charging me 100$ for broker fees. witch is crazy. that why usps rule their dont charge those kind off fees. Or if you can process it at waranty replacement it would fixxx the issue with ups i wont have those charge.
thanks i sent you a pm waitng for a answer
