ok I have an extremely loud whining sound from the tranny and the fluid is full safe to say its going to need to get rebuilt really wondering if the protege garage upgrade is worth it or not

Yea, mine whines a little bit in 1st.. After that you cant hear it.. Although its a little low on fluid cause filling it up at night=1/2 qt on the ground..

ok what fluid should I use and well I think is the throwout bearing cuz everytime I push the clutch in the clicking noise goes away

put some GM syncromesh in it..

thats what i did.. the only noise i got is a slight moan at 40 mph in any gear(exept first of course) not above 40 and not below 40..

You're saying it clicks as you pump the clutch? I.e as you push the pedal and release it? If so, this a common thing if you search for clicking clutch, you'll find a solution.

He said he already had that fluid in there.

I'm running a mixture of BG Synchroshift II and Lucas oil stabilizer and it's fine.

+1 for GM syncromesh

I've tried a few different fluids(OEM, Redline MT-90)...
Sychromesh is a whole lot smoother.

I doubt that gear oil type is the culprit of the whine. Now low gear oil can cause noise but outside of that its either bearing, synchro, or gear noise. A normally functioning transaxle makes no noise.

do you have upgraded motor mounts by chance? After I installed mine there was a lot of tranny "whine" or noise just because of the stiffer setup.
