What's your Mazda 5 nicknamed?

It's my wife's car so she calls it "The Zoom-Zoom". Not a very creative name, but coming from her (whose thoughts of a car are: 4 wheels with steering wheel, takes me from point a to point b and its color is the key differentiator) deserves some credit (yes)

my wife names our cars. She named our 5 Frisky, as in a little overeager puppy. Keep in mind for comparison's sake that we traded in Flipper the dolphin (the MPV) for the 5.

My wife names all her cars. The Madza 5 is Cinco. Previous cars were Bachus, Giggle, and Stubbems. Could be worse and at least she doesn't come up with names for my cars.

Phantom, because we bought the Phantom Blue Mica. We're no-brainer kind of people. We "named" our Toyota Echo "Echo." But it's kind of neat to have a Phantom and an Echo in the garage (wink)

Ours is "The Blue Ghost" or "The Blue Ghost Car." It's Phantom Blue and when we explained to our then-3-year-old that a phantom was a ghost, it became the Blue Ghost.

I guess I'm in the minority here, having actually given my 5 a "real" name. She is Felicity, as it means "bringer of happiness," because this vehicle met so many of the criteria I needed/wanted in a car!

"Midori-san" - for the birght green of the center stack lighting. This came about because the other mazda (my wife's MZ3) has bright orange lighting which prompted us to name him "Masago" (like the sushi fish eggs of the same color). Interesting though that we refer to Masago as a 'him', but Midori as a 'her'

Usually its just "The Mazda" , my in-laws have smugly dubbed it the "mini-minivan" (sorry in-laws, not everyone thinks a family of 4 needs an oversized, overweight, 10 MPG QX56). On Tire Rack its saved as "New Blue" though, I kind of like that one.

Well after reading this post and picking up my 2012 Mazda5 I asked friends to give suggestions on facebook.... many great ideas, some liked M5 since it sounds like a BMW... I liked the swagger wagon... but the name that has seemed to stick is "Swoopy" due to the lines on the sides... yeah it makes us laugh too, but when I head to lunch with the crew from work someone usually says "yeah you can drive and we can take Swoopy" :)
