View Full Version : No Longer Accepting PayPal

Thanks to a scammer who has decided he wants $1200 in parts as well as his $1200, ProtegeGarage will no longer be accepting PayPal effective immediately. The case is being reviewed by PayPal at this time and things *should* work in my favor. If they do, I'll re-evaluate my stance and in the future accept PayPal as payment once more.
On top of this, I'm just done dealing with nobody following the directions on the website when it comes to doing PayPal orders. No matter where I type it or how bold of print I use, half the people still ignore the directions and the order does not come through to me. Then people write in or call in weeks later wondering where thier parts are that never actually got ordered to the website. Its not worth it to me considering the number of PMs, emails, phone calls, orders and now walk-ins that I should have to babysit a PayPal account.
If this inconvenieces anyone, I'm sorry, but from now on its credit card, certified check, cash or nothing at all.
thank you
Ken

That sucks. Sorry to hear that Ken. I got ripped by good ol' SHIFT LOST through PayPal. I started a dispute then a claim and they decided in my favor which gets me........(drum roll)........ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!
Well, I shouldn't say that. I did win the dispute didn't I?

sorry to hear. youll prolly be better off, chargebacks are bad enough, i guess with so many bad people, and so many rules to protect them (wheather justified or not), its best to protect yourself and your assets.

how do you win a dispute and get nothing back?
how do you win a dispute and get nothing back?
It's in the fine print and is the absolute worst part about paypal. If you win a dispute and the other party has no money in their paypal account, then paypal cannot recover any money for you.

:( sorry to hear about this Ken...
That sucks Ken. Even if you win you should do away with using paypal. You're a well know member of the forums, and a respectable vendor of the forums. Paypal is only really neccessary for buying stuff from your average person that you don't know. G/L man.

true, true....you've built up enough of a good rep here on these forums, as well as up here in Canada :) that you really don't need PayPal.
Hope it works out for you though. DAMN SCAMMERS should get an eff'n JOB!! if they can't afford it.

Bans are meaningless.
Shouldn't be if there is an IP address.

I know if someone beat me out of $1200, it would justify me paying them a visit.

Good luck there. There is just no way this scum bag can get away with this, so you do what you need to do to stop it. People like this make me sick, and I've dealt with my share of scammers in my day. Honestly, if that happened to me, and I was out $1200, I'd definitely be traveling to visit, and I'd end up in jail if I didn't get my money handed back to me. Ashame what this world has come to. Good honest people are hard to find these days. I'm sorry this happened. I can relate, I'm in the middle of a scam job myself on paypal. Good luck!!

No, I mean that if someone is a scumbag/asshole/jerkoff/thief, banning them from some forum on the intertubes is meaningless. They'll go and do the same elsewhere, in person or otherwise.

Sorry that happened to you...I'm used to using Paypal (and never got scammed-knock on wood) and because of one idiot that's one less option to use to buy from Ken...it only takes one fool to mess it up for everybody, huh? And his address is what again?
