I have a 2002 Mazda Protege with a little over 67,000 miles. While driving on the freeway (about 70) my car jolted, the radio went off and on, and the check engine light and O/D light came on. I took it to the dealership and they said I needed a new transmission. So I took it and got a used transmission. Car rode fine for about a month and a half then the same thing happened again. Since the trasmission was under warranty I took it back to the garage they kept the car for about a week running tests on the transmission said it was fine the problem was the cam sensors. They put new cam sensors in and test drove. Again the check engine light came on but instead of showing a transmission code it showed P0340. The garage said that I would have to take it to a Mazda dealership and get my computer reset and then the car should be fixed. I took it to the dealership and they test drove the car when they got to about 75mph the car again jolted and the check engine light came on with the code p0773. So basically now the dealership refuses to even look at the computer and the garage is standing by their claim that the transmission is good and even offered to call Mazda but Mazda didn't want to talk to them.
