Hi, Im new to the forums, new to Mazdas and fairly new to tuning. These mounts say Mazada3 but they are in the Speed3 section. Ive done a bit of reading and found that there are some complaints about the stock engine mounts for the MS3. My question is, firstly are these indeed for the MS3, secondly what is the difference in performance or feel between the two stiffnesses?

we list the mount in both the mazda3 and mazdaspeed3 section of our site. the stiffer mount performs much better we feel however you will feel a tad more cabin vibration at idle than you would with a softer or stock mount.

Thats cool, i suppose if its too much i can always switch to the softer ones. How many of these things do i need? Four right? Is it $80 each or is it a kit?

no just the one, they do not make replacements for alll the mounts just the rear

I've had my mount for almost a week. Definitely feel the vibration, especially with A/C on. At first I found it very uncomfortable, however, its either getting more worn in or I began to tolerate it lol.

Performance-wise I couldn't tell you just because I haven't launched the car hard at all ever since I got it. I purchased this for the same reasons: stories of stock mounts failing.

Uncomfortable huh? Hmmmm might want the softer ones then. I dont know if i could deal. My buddy did a k20 swap into his 2004 civic and it vibrated BAD. Suppose ive got 4 weeks to think about it.

its not that bad really... with the ac on you deffinatly feel a bit more. but over all it wasn't that bad

i highly recommend going with a stronger bushing for the mazdaspeed3

Alrighty then I will, you are the experts. I dont know alot about this, why are the stiffer ones so much better? Is less engine shift better for transfering power to the drivetrain or something?

in some respects yes...but thats not the reason to get the new mount. If you have one mount that is weak, it allows the engine to mov around too much. When that happens all the other mounts have to pick up the slack of that one. So what has been happening is a failure of the mount and engines have been dropping even other mounts snapping at there mounting place(i.e. the transmission actually cracked where the mount was attached)

HOLY CRAP! Understood. Stiff ones will be ordered payday, thanks guys. OT here but ive read that its important to let the turbo cool down on TC cars. Let them run for a minute before shutting the motor off to extend the life of the turbo, are there turbo timers for the MS3 or is that even car specific?
