looking at a 2002 protege ES with 80k on it. In the past i've heard that the auto tranys are not the best as in don't last long. Is that true? Any info helps! Thanks!

Not sure, but I have 107,000 on mine and it runs fine.

i got an 01 ES auto, working good for me, but i only got 52k on mine, dont drive it much.

Autos arent that bad, one guy turboed his 10 psi I think and beat the shit out of it, and did neutral drops and stupid shit like that and then when his blows he blames the shit mazda/ford tranny,hmmm. My friend had a focus with the same tranny and has a 50 shot of nos, 50k so far and no problems. I think its all on how you drive it, get a trans cooler and flush it every 15k or so and it should be fine. The stock radiator trans cooler setup is crap, the fluid does'nt stay cool enough thats the only real problem. and MTX your car looks sick got more pics those fenders and konigs ohh that shit is sweet.

just found out it has a salvaged title ... i don't know about the car anymore ... we will see ... thanks for the help though !
