View Full Version : Why Not Use a Dry Kit on My P5?

I've heard around the forum that using a dry N20 kit on a P5 is bad times. I'm wondering why. I can understand MAF failure if I have a fat shot being thrown at it, but if I have only a 25-30hp shot, shouldn't my ECU compensate in stride?

From my understanding of nitrous, a wet shot would accomidate you more. Dry shot is supposedly a harder shot. But im not the expert. Um..from my understanding only a handful of people have sprayed these cars. Iv'e heard of some doing fine, and others blowing them. But, the tuning I think is needed to spray was skipped. Fuel, timing changes, just taking the precautions to make it work werent taken. Just throwing on a kit and spraying a 50-75 shot wont cut it. I wish someone would prove this "dont spray the fs-de" myth untrue.

Prime example. Dry shot and no timing changes.

Yeah, most people try to get off cheap and I have never seen anyone try to do it properly.

On another note...I miss your car. :(

Thanks man, me too. Big time. Im doing something to make me happy about that though. Im buying another p5 or protege in the next week or 2. Then we start from scratch. No boost this time around though, too expensive.
