Hey everyone, I just got a new set of rims and tires for the CX-&. They are 20" Drop Star DS01 wrapped in Toyo Proxes S/T.

Please let me know what you think!

I'm wavering as to whether or not I could/should upgrade from stock tires to 20". But what are the advantages to 20" tires over 18" and equally important, are there any disadvantages? Particularly as they relate to the CX-7?

Nice.

The one thing Mazda blew is that the stock rims were not chromed.

They are nice but they do not stand out like chrome would on my silver car.

But being a cheap ass hat I cannot bring myself to replace new rims and tires!

No real advantage other than aesthetics. Harsher ride...

What tire size did you end up going for?

Dude, thanks. In your opinion then, what would be a good enhancement in terms of tires/wheels, sticking with 18" ?? My CX-7 came with the Eagle RS-A and at 20K miles, I figure I've got another 10 - 15 K miles to go before having to buy new set. At my current driving levels, thats in another 6 - 7 months or so, so I probably need to start looking into this.

We do get some snow in northern VA, but it's not an over-riding consideration. So, I'm not looking for winter tires, just all-season radials. I'm seriously thinking about changing the rims and with that, I might as well consider upgrading the tires, to maybe a higher performance tire.

This discussion about tires/rims is really information and interesting, so I'm paying close attention! So, all suggestions are gladly accepted! LOL

Thanks everyone!
