View Full Version : How hard is a tranmission swap from automatic to manual ?

HI, I got an automatic transmission in my protege 5 2003 and I want to swap it for a manual.
I found myself a cheap manual transmission with the pedals system and I want to know if their is any complication (other than the pedals), I mean more on the electrical side.

Why not search for it..

You can't just ask "How Hard Is Something"

For all I know, adding gas to your is a dificult task for you...

If you are a mechanic, it's dead easy. If you are an Idiot, It's hard...

Yeah i'm no idiot but i'm only new in the mechanics trade, ...

...and I think I can stand with the fact that my car is automatic and will modify it some other way.

....but a car that isnt an automatic?!?....
prolly end up being about the same $$ wise in the end anyway

...a manual car is cheaper than an automatic when you buy it new... and is cheaper on the gas too.

..but I was thinking more on the performance side.
