Stiff B&M short shifter

To anyone who has one or did have a B&M short shifter in there car. I've had mine in now for about a month but i find its still quite stiff and you have to push quite hard to move it. Has anyone greased the ball on it to smooth it out, even though it says not to. Also do the Kartboy bushings help with this at all? I've felt a few other B&M shifters in some friends vehicles and they are super smooth. Anyone else had this?

it is an awesome shifter by the way
but it does take about 700-1k miles to really break in

in my case it was broke-in in about a week because of a long commute
the bushings only make it stiffer
i did kartboy bushings and cork bronze-oil bushings at the same time
wow talk about stiff, but now, totaly awesome shifter!

Give it some time; the ball/pivot does not need any sort of lube and doing so will not help it.

The Kartboy bushings help keep the shifting more accurate and "in line" - some may say "notchier" but I appreciate it.
