I'm redoing my intake pipe and going from 2.25" to 3" pipe in the process. I kept the 2.25" in case of back up. On the new 3" pipe I had a maf flange from a cai welded to the new 3" intake pipe. had everything done, go to start the car, starts but dies after two seconds. if I switch the intake pipe back to the 2.25" the car runs. what the shit? one thing I noticed between the two pipes is the flange on the 3" pipe sits higher than the 2.25" pipe make the sensor sit further out. ideas?

ur not gonna pull dat wit a1.6L MAF. wat brand intake did the 2" flange come off of? remember air travels faster thru smaller tubing. you cud try making a gasket to seal around the MAF out of some inner tube patching. works 89%.

so after reading that article.. a solution would be twin charger intake, simota style... it is factory size pipe on that section.....

so basically , try and use the same diameter pipe danny..i am not sure what the stock size is.. 2inches i think.. .. to test it out.. do you have the stock air box still? cut that out and get some silicon clamps and hook it up inline on the charge side.. see what happens...
