Any updates on PnP availability?

Sorry all but PnP Xede is DOA. Spoke to the manufacturer (Chiptorque in Australia) and they have written it off. After exhaustive efforts to source key components but without any success the project has been terminated.

I think hearing that from Bell would be appropriate.

Up to you but chiptorque are the designers and manufacturer. They were the group actually chasing the Pnp. After chasing throughout Aus/US/EUR they came up blank with some necessary components. You will find that its dead

there are still selling the chip for 899$ on they web site,
they said its available. and comes with the pnp harness

are they talking only about the PNP feature ?
cause the chip is still on sale,
I tought its came with the pNp harness,

Why buy a chip that cant be reprogrammed for your mods later down the road? Worst idea ever my friend.

The XEDE is not just a chip. It is a programmable piggyback. The harness it comes with is only the part that plugs into the XEDE, not the part that plugs into your car. The part that plugs into your car is what everyone is talking about to make it PNP. Hope this helps.

I gave up on the PnP for piggy backs... Now my sight is set on the Cobb AP...hopefully they can come up with something...?
Though, I am not holding my breath...
I was so psyched about the Xede with PnP... (sad2)
I've just given up hope...

well if Diablo had anything for our cars they have dual sided chips so you could run two programs. i think they have a couple different options as well that i cant remember too much about at the moment. i was running the dual sided chip in my focus and it worked great. plus i remember them selling their flashing module too.

I know Patrick at Diablo and they arent going into the mazda market. Their bread and butter these days are Chevy. If anyone in the Domestic market is going to go for it, it will be SCT with a Flash module. They have serious inside connections with Ford/Mazdas/Volvo.

What the hell are these developers thinking? I mean my 2007 MS3 already has 25K miles on it and 2008 is the last year of production. If they don't get some gawd dam tuning unit out now, these cars will have wrinkles by the time they do and their joints will hurt too much to run fast....

We are trying to make the Xede PNP for the MS3. I also need those connectors for another applications too. Since Mazda is not helping us, we are looking into having them custom made.

unfortunately i dont see a PnP harness happening too soon for the MS3 if ever. if it does happen we'll be paying a premium for it seeing that only a small portion of speeds are made and a smaller portion are actual modders.

They need the connector for another application other than the speed 3, so it's not just for the speed 3.

the ECU is the same for the 3 and speed3 along with the 5 and probably some other cars that I don't know of and the problem with getting the connectors is that the ecu is a giant piece of molded plastic so it isn't just a connector you need the whole housing. but like I said give us roughly a week or less and you will be pleasantly surprised.

we will be able to make it for any thing on the market so Xede, Procede, and Standback.
as it stands right now it is still a prototype remember that and will more than likely be on a made to order basis as it stands but if demand is there we will of course make more. We will have the ecu harness and then wire in which ever unit you wanted or even leave that up to you to do if you already have the unit.

a harness is a harness is a harness. a plug and play harness is basically a jumper that goes between the factory harness and factory ecu with the same plugs. whatever system you pick you would wire to the PnP harness rather than the factory harness. then when you want to remove the system, unplug the harness and reconnect the ECU to the factory wiring and voila, back to stock. its going to function the same regardless of system chosen. many of the systems even tap into the same wires for some of thier functions.
as for the "which system is the best system" question, thats a loaded question with no simple answer. every system has its fanboys and will readily tell you thier system of choice is superior with no drawbacks. we've had a great deal of success with XEDE on this and other cars. we have no real experience with ProCEDE so i'm not going to make a value judgement without having a system to play with.

Your terminology confuses me, will the xede be plug and play or does it need to be wired to this intercepting harness?
To me it sounds like your making a harness extension so any piggyback can be spliced into it.
Please clarify.

You got it. Any Piggyback can be plug-n-play if you have the harness that fits the car (in this case MS3). Just wire your favorite piggyback into the harness and plug the harness into the MS3 stock connectors.

you cannot remove the factory ECU and plug something in place of it if thats what you mean. you have a harness with male ends and female ends. this is connected to the piggyback. you take that and plug it into the ecu and then plug it into the car. thats plug and play.

No thats not what i mean, maybe i am still misunderstood.
I see 2 distinct ways for you to do this, each with its own advantage. I had typed up a huge response but i find myself confusing the matter so i'll leave it alone.
