SOLD 04/27/07

Up for sale is my Corksport midpipe. It is a two piece catless midpipe with resonator. I believe it is a 2.25" diameter piping. Will fit MP3 and P5, and pretty sure MSP and other 3rd gen protege. This is a great upgrade for any exhaust, and the perfect size for NA application or stock boost levels. Definitely increased pull at 5,000 rpm up to redline (a VERY noticible difference when I went back to the stock MP3 midpipe, which in itself has a bigger diameter than the stock P5 and protege exhaust).

The reason I am selling it is my GF thinks it is too loud (hand) (she barley put up with the OBX header, and thinks that any car that isn't as quiet as a lexus has something broken.) I love the sound it made with the header and RB axelback. Decently no rice sound, just a more pronounced grumble. Since it has the resonator it is very livable and definitely much quieter than with a straight midpipe.

I bought this last September from a forum member locally. It did have a small hairline crack at the engine side of the resonator, but that has been since professionally welded up all the way around (picture attached). The welder guaranteed there is no chance it can break again.

The exhaust in the pictures is dirty because I took the picture in a hurry right after uninstalling it last week. It is all boxed and ready to ship, since it was going to be sold to another member but he backed out at the last minute (doh) .

Price: $220 SHIPPED anywhere in the continental US.

Ask any questions you might have or just PM me.

Thanks for looking

Are you serious your are getting rid of it b/c of a girlfriend!?!? Get rid of the g/f and keep the pipe. If she complains about the sound of your car just imagine what else she'll complain about in the future.

Anyway free bump and GL on the sale. I love my CS exhaust. Sounds great!!(headbang)

LOL, I am serious, but there are other reasons for selling it too.
1. NEED MONEY (I just bought a front lip and need few more parts)
2. GF
3. Feeling sorry for the environment (and it is illegal in Illinois to drive without a cat)

I would also be interested in trading for a few parts or parts + $$. (radio bezel, center counsel, steering wheel, gt braces, ud pulley, fsze cam). If you have any of these we can work on a deal also.

Interested in mid-pipe with resonator .. don't need the other pipe. Anyone feel like splitting this with me?

the pipe with the resonator is the pipe that would replace the one where the cat is at correct? looks longer and seems like you would need the entire thing to have an exhaust just because the clamp is behind the resonator and not before, like the stock exhausts on proteges.

correct me if im wrong. at work and trying to go off a mental picture.lol

If I remember right you need this whole section. I don't think you can just switch out the pipe with the resonator for the section w/the cats. b/c of the pipe size and length (like you said). not completely sure though, I'm @ work also

I have a Megan catback, so it would work for me cuz the Megan comes with a 2-piece pipe before the cats. By removing the one piece from the stock midpipe to the s-shaped pipe I can make this fit. But still, I might just get the whole thing and just sell the catback then ..

I do believe you are right. Now that I think of it the MP3 resonator is behind the cat, and there is a flange attaching the 2 pieces. I do not think the flanges would bolt up right due to different diameter and lengths. I will try to check under the car later and see if indeed it is that way. You can always buy both pieces and avoid any problems ;) .
