Yeah you need a tool to turn the piston to retract it. I looked around and found a cube type of tool that fits many makes of vehicles but unfortunately it doesn't fit the protege. You can try a vise-grip or similar tool, just be extra careful not to damage the rubber gasket thing around the piston. If you manage to find the right tool, please let me know about it :)

You use an allen wrench on the back of the piston and loosen (lefty) it till your pad backs off enough to clear the rotor. I have forgoten the exact procedure in the manual but I think it is self adjusting after you back it off.

If the ES brakes are the same as the P5 you need to remove a 10mm 'cap' off of the back of the caliper. Then use a 4mm allen wrench to back the piston out. Fit the caliper over the pads and then use the allen wrench to compress the piston until the hub no longer spins (spin the hub while compressing the piston - easier to do with another person). When the hub stops spinning turn the allen wrench 1/4 turn the opposite way. The hub should now spin. Replace the 10mm 'cap'.

Exactly, Nicely done.

So far I like them. I have had them on for 7 months...don't remember the miles off the top of my head, but they are wearing nice and grip is decent in the dry and the wet. But they don't corner like the Toyo TPT's they replaced, they have a softer sidewall.

if you need to clamp it down and it wont, remove the cap on the fluid resivoir then squeeze it with a clamp

i did that but i ended up taking the caliper off and i figured out behind the piston there was a bolt that i had to remove and on the inside of were i took off the bolt there was another screw with an alen head i had to remove that in order to compress the piston. It was a PITA.
