Now In Stock!!! I need TEN people for the group buy price of;
$199 plus shipping
that's right, for 2/3 the cost of the Mazdaspeed or CP-E intake, you can have an Injen SP series intake for the Mazdaspeed3. Unlike the RD intakes Injen sells, these Intake Systems Feature the Patent Pending MR Technology Process for Optimal Gains and a Safe A/F Ratio. The SP series does not limit itself to just a Cold Air System or Short Ram System. The MR Technology process has its effects on both types. The SP is The World's First "Tuned" Intake System.

thats kind of weird they put the maf so high up right next to the breather tube, looks like a nice intake though
Hey Ken, can you get me a firm answer on this:
I live in Cali, and the great thing about Injen is they are always CARB approved (usually). I see that the MS3 intake OE# is still pending. If I buy this intake now, before approval, what's the process for me to get the sticker once an OE# is approved?
Thanks!

The reply I gave you on the other forums came from ken.
carb is pretty much a done deal. once it is approved you should be able to get the decal from injen.
Oh right, forgot to check back there.. ha.
Thanks!

how can I get on buying one of these?
I have a friend that would like one as well.
I noticed that the Injen is all one pipe without joints is this why it is claiming better gains then the MS3 OEM intake? No disruptions of the air would make better sense to me.
I would also like that hydo shield so is that possible to buy as well?

i think most people will find the gains comparable honestly. independent dyno runs will prove that i am sure. not calling injen a liar, simply that every manufacturer takes thier best dyno graphs and posts those. and yes, i do mean every manufacturer does this, like it or not. :) independent dynos are the best way to gauge what is gained from a particular mod.
if you and your friend want in on this deal, simply add your names to the list of ten. i will need 10 people for this deal to stick. its over $100 cheaper than Mazdaspeed or CP-E people, jump on it!

With those Injen filters can they be cleaned and oiled with K&N products?
Oh and what would be total price to 92373 zip, thanks.

yes they can

Sweet and any word on if those prefilters are worth getting or other places to get them because at $30 that seems a bit over priced on the injen web site.

i can probably get them lower than that - do you have a part number of the prefillter you are looking at?

I think this is the one since on the injen web site the fitler in that kit is #1014
Now can I get a true answer if I should buy the MS CAI or the Injen? Are there any things to consider when choosing that pertain to durability, function, warranty ect?
My friend had the Injen on his Mazda 3 and liked it so he and I both are looking at putting our names on the list but I want to do a little research first so I appreciate any info that may help me pick which is best for me.

i can do $25 shipped on the filter sock in red, blue or black
function wise i do not see a whole lot of difference amongst the intakes available for the car. none of them cause a check engine light and all of them will, with dyno variation and perhaps a few horsepower's difference, perform the same.
warranty wise you will only ever be 110% covered with the mazdaspeed intake. i do not think any reasonable dealership will outright void your warranty for having a cold air intake of any brand. if you feel your dealership is that autocratic, i would advise either not installing one or removing it when taking the car in for warranty work.
in terms of warranty on the part itself, injen is as good as everyone else in terms of standing behind the product. quality wise the SP series intakes are very good and i would not feel bad putting one into my own car.
to answer your earlier question, shipping would be about $11 shipped to your zip code.

Is there any significant difference in the location of the filter end of this thing when it's installed compared to the Mazdaspeed CAI?

Is there anyone already in on this deal or is everyone still gauging interest? I just bought a MS intake, but it has not shipped yet from the dealer, do you think I would be better off getting my money back and getting this one? or just getting the MS intake? Thanks!

How much for the intake with prefilter shipped to 98105? Does it include all maintenance items like the MS3 CAI such as the liquid cleaner?
Thank you

Only reason I am going with the MS CAI is that the dealer told me that if they find a CEL or any issue related to that after market CAI I am responsible for the cost of repair ect.
For the extra $100 I am staying with sound mind and getting the MS version.

Does this CAI come with any splash shields like the mazdaspeed 3?
Nikolai

Definitely interested... Was already filled/closed on an "other" forum. Anybody being able to install these without taking the front bumper off? I'd be on the list for sure if I knew this was an option.

Nah no splash guards, it's pretty deep behind the bumper so you should be okay.
As for taking off the front bumper, pretty sure it is required. Even if you have a japanese oil filter arm, there is a splash guard you have to take out of the bumper for the filter to fit, and you won't be able to get to the bolts without having the bumper off, not to mention the splash guard won't come off unless you you somehow break it into bits behind the bumper.
I tried for a while to do it without taking off the bumper, then I took it off and it was super easy. :(
