Sounds like a good weekend project, anybody have any idea if it's similar on the CX-7?

Hmm.. I'm not POSITIVE, I'm still pretty new to cars, but I think it's a different part...? And I already took out the baffle.

Whoops! Sorry, jumped the gun a bit;

Now that I have actually read your link, I see your point. Sorry for the confusion. Bump for being a bone-head...(bang)

My roomate did the silencer and resonator delete on his speed6. I saw the post about removing the silencer on the 7 but when it didn't mention the resonator I figured it didn't exist on the 7 or was too much a PITA to remove.

Can anyone confirm if we have the resonator.

I've had mine removed for months. I'm not sure if it made a difference or not.

What are the risks involved in taking the resonator out? How does it sound with it out?

I know that my roomate's Speed6 has a very wet airfilter after driving in the rain. So there is the potential of water in the engine. Also, he had to change it after only 10,000 miles.

He can hear a sucking sound with his window down. No one else in the car can hear it and he can't hear it if the window is up.
