going through some weight savings in my 1.8L, and since my car had AC from the factory I figured that would be a good place to start. I'm fairly sure I can just rip the thing out without too much trouble, the only spot I'm concerned a bit about is the new accessory belt. Both my belts need to be changed, and I already bought an alternator/water pump belt, but since my goal is to get rid of the compressor and shorten the loop, my question is; since the MSP didn't come with AC can I use an accessory belt from a MSP?(that's assuming the 1.8L ES didn't have the option of no AC) I figure since just about everything on the exterior is the same on the 1.8L and 2.0L that this wouldn't be any different.

The guy at autozone asked me if my car had AC or not when I bought the alternator belt... is it different if I don't have AC? or do you think he gave me the accessory belt and not the alternator belt?

thanks for any input.

The engine and pulley system is the same, so Id imagine the NON AC belt would work for you.

alternator belt is the same regardless of A/C or not
power steering belt is the only one that's different.... it is a 5PK1030 belt... OEM part number is FS05-15-907
