Don't you wanna know how well the BOV will hold boost? or are you just getting it for the sound hehe

I don't think I have a clip up with my HKS SSQV but it's friggin way, way too loud, even with the purple "low tone" insert installed.

vent to atmosphere. I'm considering getting the recirc fitting, but it'll have to wait until I'm getting my charge pipes remade because I have no place to sent the recirculated air.

Well you can perhaps.. not me :P

my car wasn't turbo stock (sad1)

Does anyone have the HKS SSQV recirculated?.. I'd like to know if it's significantly quieter.

the ssqv recirculated is the same pretty much at the stock ms6 valve. its just a loud whoooosh sound. no more high pitched squeak because it gets rid of the silver/purple insert with a recirc insert. if you want a bov that makes a squeak sound and recirculates, it'd be the greddy type s, but they internally suck.

So in recirc it would still be loud with the hks? Why do people use different pipes? In kansei's case he had no turbo but for the ms6 why do people change the pipes and put new things in. Why not just put the BOV where the old one is?

there aren't any new pipes for us. you use new pipes for instance in the mazdaspeed protege's case because the stock pipes suck, most of the time there plastic and small. so you get larger metal ones and you get a flange welded to it for the bov you want. for us our pipes are damn well adequate enough. recirc with hks will be louder than the stock by about 1.5 to 2 times the stock recirc sound.

check out www. blowoffvalves .com, the valves depicted there tho are all vented to the atmosphere so it won't be true to our cars. unless you go vta which is an idiotic idea.

I got ya... I figured MAYBE it added to the car somehow. But its mostly just for the after market BOV to fit?

well if you already have hard aftermarket pipes, only reason i would believe to modify it after would be to go bigger or to use a different one that has a different bov flange on it.
